This is where the magic happens! Our Behind the Scenes Timelapse Video gives you a real insight into what happens in the Mighty Aphrodite studio. This video was shot in our old studio in Reading - our new studio in Lampeter (on the Ceredigion / Carmarthenshire border) is more spacious and we have even more variety. In this video we work through 11 studio sets so you get to see how each one looks in real life as well as how we magically transform our studio from one set to the next!
Our model for the day was our Image Retoucher Sam. She has been a big part of the Mighty Aphrodite team over the last ten years, often acting as test model for our new studio sets (you will see lots of pictures of Sam in our Galleries). At the age of 37, we think Sam still looks amazing just like she did when we first shot her!
We shot Sam for about 20 minutes in each studio set, so it is about half the time we shoot clients during one of our normal boudoir shoots. We still managed to fit in a variety of different poses in all 11 sets (and you can see some of the finished images here and also in the video too). It was a long day! Including time for Sam's make up, we were in the studio for about 9 hours.
We built our studio in Reading from scratch in 2002 so that we would have exactly what we needed but we were limited on space so had to be creative. When we moved to Mid Wales in 2020 our new home had a perfect space in our 2 acre garden for an even bigger studio! Once planning permission was granted we took about 9 months to build the whole thing and fit it out ready to start shooting in May 2021.
